After two years away from the WRC in 2007 and 2008, Rally Australia returns in 2009 with an all-new event.

Previously run from the city of Perth, the rally's new base is 4000km away on the east coast in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales (NSW), with the majority of competition taking place in the Tweed and Kyogle Shires. Rally headquarters will be the Salt Resort complex in the town of Kingscliff, while the service park will be constructed on the beach nearby.

Its indeed quite a bad (unlucky) thing for Mikko that whenever he has won barring finland, Loeb has had a problem(crashes). In australia too, he was beaten fair and square. So even if he ends up on the podium this year, he would be like Nicky Hayden in MotoGP. Needs to prove that he is a champ when the champs are alive and kicking.

No doubt Mikko is the next best driver after Loeb in every rally, but winning rallies is one thing and finishing consistently high is another.

This year anyway looks tough for Loeb with Mikko just needing second place finishes from here on which he anyway does very easily.

Damn funny when the same car that has passed
pre-event scrutiny fails after the rally. What were the scrutineers doing befor
the rally?

On a another note, there was a stage cancelled with environment enthusiasts throwing stones at rally cars during the stage beleiving that the rally was damaging the environment. Can't beleive that this still happens at an WRC level.

No doubt Loeb will be untouchable on tarmac but so is Sordo, mikko will have to stay ahead of sordo and forget about loeb. I think the C4 is just too damn fast than any other car.
