Hey Guys,

subaru's pull out is not to do with the economy it is to do with Prodrive. So dont be mistaken. Subaru was thinking of pulling out even at the start of this year but its the commitment by david richards they stayed back and he has to not delivered. so subaru used this situation and pulled out.

they also dont have any other team to take over the job for next year. so they pulled out.

this is been boiling for past one to two years.

for sure subaru will be back in 2010 with out doubt. watch the space.

cheers

I don't understand vivek they were fine till 05 . Or is it because of the car was not competitive enough or is it coz petter has just lost it .

Hi chetan,

i got this info from trusted people in subaru. the opinion was that david richards has too many things to do in motorsports and subaru was not happy. so they gave the ultimatum to prodrive to get the act together. i think not even winning one event in 2008 was also a reason. they spent too much money in the getting the new car up and live but they were well behind. i think they are back in 2010 with new company may be.

for subaru rallying is an important medium and they may not miss it for long.

cheers

Didnt the co. prodrive start being a Subaru works outfit? Now the Subaru business is only 20 of their revenues it seems.

Subaru Returns To International Rally--But Not To WRC

When Subaru pulled out of the World Rally Championship in late 2008, leaving factory driver and former WRC Champion Petter Solberg and the rest of the team in the lurch, many were shocked, if not surprised. Since then, some have wondered if the rally relevance was going to wane as the product line became more civilized and motorsport faded into the background. But it seems Subaru hasn't let the dream die just yet, as they're coming back to rally for 2010.
