Hi,
Im akhil. Big time car nut, im into off roading and roadtripping.
I met Ashwin Naik and Musa Sherif in an off road rally and he suggested i come down to chennai and watch the INRC. Now that was an invitation i just coudnt refuse. So i drove down (from mangalore) and what an experience. Ive only followed the rally through mags like motoring and overdrive, but i swear the sight of the cars with the tail out, exhaust bangin off the limiter, sound of dirt/stones gettin crunched under the tyres and the dust trail had all my senses paying rapt attention. I never found the time to attend these events before. actually even now i havnt found the time, but hell with everythin im camping at all the forthcoming rally stages! :P )
i'm into practicing my powerslides and dirt track driving almost daily (nice track I've found near my place, although u get occasional chicken/dog/cow. i have no intention of actually rallying (ok maybe not right now, vitamin m and talent deficiency :x ) oh and the "cars' im practicing in are not exactly rally material (tata safari 4wd, wagonr)
And ive never found anybody who can answer my questions (cept for ashwin and musa, but then they are a busy lot! :( )
so hopin to share experiences and advice from like minded dirt trippers :D
cheers

ok niaz sir, here goes.......off the top of my head
i need to know how to read (make sense of) the tulip charts. being only a 'road' driver ive never been exposed to the smaller details.
and im planning to buy a 'normal' car, rather than the usual group of suvs and tall boys that i have right now. is it wise to buy a second hand zen/esteem and get it rally specced, or keep it stock and get a hold of my senses before i actually know if im any good?

thanx :)
