Few questions for 2w category:
1) Can rally license be issued by the organizer, as i read somewhere that the rally license application could be sent to fmsci or ds office. Is it true. How long will it take to get the license both ways.

2) Will there be a parts truck to carry bikers stuff during rally, or should we make our own arrangement.

3) Entry fee structure for late and very late.

4) Is there anyone with service team, I could team with.

5) After I submit the invitation form available online along with 5000rs to reserve the place, when would be the remaining amount due. Is it within that period or anytime before the race.

6) Info regarding rally insurance. Does all insurance company do this or selected, how much does it cost.

7) Will gps track given before the race for every section or everyday before the start.

Thanks in advance
Nick

Please find my point by point response.

Only the ASN can issue license. If you are holding Indian driving license then FMSCI is the ASN. If you give your application to DS office then we will forward it to FMSCI too. Even if you do not physically get the license the ASN usually confirms to organisers all pending licenses.

I would strongly urge all the motoquad guys to come together and organise this cooperatively. As organisers we will provide for transportation of one bag (clothes etc.) from night halt to night halt.

3) Entry fee structure for late and very late.

Late fee is applicable from 16th December. The fee is detailed in the rule and regulations for moto-quad category.

Again like truck it is better for clutch of riders to organise this collectively on cost share basis.

The balance has to be within week of closing of the applicable fee period. Late entries close by 15th January so this would be say around 21st January. And also all documentation needs to be completed by this date.
Invitation is issued subject to slot availability. As of close of standard entries there were 4 slots available in motoquad category.

Cost is not much and for vehicle you will have to get extension of your existing policy for high risk coverage for period of the rally. Also you need personal accident cover. Ask Desert STorm office for agent contact if you do not have your own insurance agent/company.

All days GPS track would be given latest at drivers briefing. You can upload daily tracks from these. We will try, but can not guarantee, to assist loading through laptop at the rally office.

Thanks Sudev for the info. Just got over with the exams and now packing bags to go back to India.
I will talk to you Nick this weekend.

Also, if there anyone else taking part in 2w category. Want to discuss regarding service team.
If there is anyone in 4w category with a space on there service team, let me know. I'm automobile engg, so I just want to use tools as I would be able to carry most of the repair on my own.
