My review -
I participated in the school on 25/08/09 and must say that I learnt a lot. One good thing was that I was the only student that day so it was more of a 1 on 1 practice session with Jagat giving his inputs. The timing was from 9.30am to 1.30pm. We met at the FRK racing compound and Jagat covered the theory part of car prep, license requirements, over view of the role of co-driver etc. and safety requirements in the car. We then drove to get our practical started. It was about 5km from the garage. The total track being used was less than a 1km stretch on an open field with speeds touching top of second gear.
Since I was the only student, I got a lot of seat time with over 50 passes on the track and that allowed me to try out different styles (LFB, handbrake, feathering the throttle etc.) over and over again till I became confident on each and got to experience how the car reacts under each.
And of course watching Jagat drive was priceless

Overall I would rate it at 4.5 stars.
- The problem that i felt was that because there were about 8-9 corners to negotiate and with unlimited run throughs, I got better at negotiating them....part of which would be coz i was changing my driving based upon inputs give by Jagat and part was coz now i knew what to expect and started memorizing the corners.
My recommendations:
- Maybe a next level of school being held on actual stage road
- Create a longer program spanning over the weekend with more seat time and more close "rally-like" experience.
- This longer course could cost more but would help a driver to adapt to the ever changing conditions on an actual rally and also learn when to go flat out vs. when to nurse the car.
I would be the first one to sign up if such a course was offered.
Thanks again for a great day Jagat.
