There is no credible information on the launch of Jimny in India. From where did you get this information?

The Suzuki Jimny

Image

Could be quite a screamer on the track, and one hopes that it comes in both Diesel and petrol options...and a few body options as well, as this red one..

Image

Was initially supposed to be launched in 2011...but it does seem it will end up being offered after the expo..keeping the fingers crossed

An the looks front..am not too sure, is it a compact off-roader look or a Wagon R on steroids?? :)

yeah it was supposed to be launched in late 2011 but im pretty sure its gonna happen after the auto expo..a friend saw the new jimny in bhutan and says its smaller(length) and lower than the gypsy...this is suzuki's answer to the thar...the question is if they'll introduce it with a petrol engine also...the diesel 1500 cc engine is the logical answer if suzuki wants to compete with mahindra...its experts on this forum who can tell us whether this diesel engine with the new suspension package will be quicker than the gypsy or not and more importnatly can be used for rallying in the future...

Well there has to be a category / class first that includes diesel engines in our events, other wise it will only run in the Raid and Desert Storm, though even they do not have a diesel cat in the extreme section currently..

The dimensions are similar to the Suzuku Samurai, and since I'v been a kid, I've always wanted to rally in that car.. in fact one of my friends had even gone to the extent of chopping the Gypsy to the Samurai dimensions many a year back, but it was an unholy mess!
