hi everyone,
I am quite shocked at the kind of comments being passed out here especially about mr.leelakrishnan...
I have known leela personally and one of qualities i admire about him is the spirit of fairplay that he has. So for him to go into a protest i firmly believe that there must have been adequate provocation & ample reason for him to do so.also please bear in mind that he is responsible for taking decesions on behalf of an organisation just as there is a person in every team and organisation.
i know that he has unconditionally helped a number of privateers on a number of occasions and i will vouch for this being a recepient myself.
In fact i personally don't know of anyone who has helped other ralliests as much as he has.
So i find it strange that people can make such harsh accusations without getting to know the full extent of what has transpired.
I don't know about you, Rockstar, but I grew up idolizing Leela. And like I mentioned, a very good friend of Vikram Mathias too. That's why it sounds so ridiculous that they ended up protesting about the lower arms when the whole rallying world knows that the two teams were running identical setups.
From a layman's point of view, the RRR teams were running better tyres (Yokohama) and imported fuel (from Shell?). So weren't they at an advantage? All I am trying to say is, RRR should have accepted the results gracefully and looked forward to the next season.
Meantime, they and MRF could have worked together on the grey areas and discussed the same with FMSCI and incorporated changes to the rules and regulations for INRC 2010. That would have been healthy and augured well for the sport.
