My beloved Zen met with an accident and so some denting painting was done to bring it back to shape. The engine had to be taken out for denting of the chassis and then the engine was put back again. Nothing happened to the engine in the accident. It suffered no damage.

1. Now i find that the car has become very sluggish in the mornings when i start for office. After some time it becomes normal. This used to never happen before.

2.The acceleration has come down. It just accelerates the way it used to anymore.

3. I used to regularly touch speeds of 140-145 on the greater noida expressway. Even touched 150 on the speedo. But now it barely goes above 120. Takes a long time to reach 130 and till 140 its like an eternity. I dont know what has happened to her. Believe me i used to regularly touch 140-145 but it just dosent go. Please Please help me diagnose the problem with as i love her a lottt.

4. Maybe the mechanic dint put the engine back right. My last oil change was about 8000 kms ago at Motorcraft Noida Sec 8. I havent changed any filters or sparkplugs. Should i get them changed?? All help would be greatly appreciated.

5. Also could you all kind folks suggest me some good workshops/garages/mechanics who are expert in Maruti car and would be able to bring back the engine to life. Please help me. :(

could be misaligned drive terrain to slipping clutch.

are there any vibrations in car? or any abnormal tyre wear?

I guess they cost around 3k, better replace them ;)

8K for a oil change is way lot... please change oil too. For the vibration, check your engine bedding as well

to check clutch, slot the car in 5 th gear on an open road, try to stop the car without pressing clutch, if you can kill the engine with brake, your clutch is fine if you can not and car give jerks than your clutch is gone.

so the reason for poor performance is non aligned drive train and slipping clutch.

you may be feeling that while accelerating engine RPM goes up without the actual speed going up.

Hey guys

Got the oil, air filter and coolant changed. I can feel a marginal improvement in performance :)

I referrred to the engine bedding for the vibration that you mentioned. Usually there can be vibration if the bedding on which the engine sits is old or worn out (Please correct me if I am wrong). Sorry buddy, I am from Bangalore, so no idea about Delhi. Anyway, all the best in getting the car fixed

Got the plugs and injectors cleaned. Got the oil changed, oil filter, air filter and coolant changed. Still a few things to do and ofcourse get some tests done on the engine plus get the chassis checked. There is some definite improvement. Thanks Kariappa :)
