Its short of T-8 for the New York Rally and as such, think it important that i at least get started in giving all an update on the event as Garry and i work our way into participating in the penultimate round of the US Rally Championship.

One could perhaps contemplate on what is the objective of this rally and what would we want from the event. The answer lies in one simple fact, Garry is a new Driver to me and i am a new Co Driver to him. Most rallies start with a strong calibration between the driver and co driver ( at relatively normalized pace) and in this case a pace that most would envy. So, the objective is clearly to complete the rally (God Willing Car Holds Up).

Garry and i intent to participate in the entire Rally Championship season next year, and this will serve as a good stepping stone for the right calibration ( given stage quality).

I was out with Garry testing in Nashville and clearly, was awe struck, first at his caliber as a driver and second at the pace the car was capable of dishing out. Remember, i am an Esteem Group N guy and back in my days the darn tricked out cars were the A+ (not the N+) with tuners working the very thin line between what was ehhhmmm Acceptable, or not. So, after Garry and i went through our Recee and i gave him a count to start, my pace was clearly one for esteem - and did not befit a Turbo Sub'u. One call in, Garry was three calls out! STOP, back the duck up and let’s start over.

Mental Note... Three calls ahead is good and where you need to be Sid - CHECK!
The remainder was such a pleasure, the pace, the driver and the track.... If testing was indicative of where we would stand in the Rally, i say bring it on.

If you have friends and family in the NY area, tell them about this rally. This sport in the US is quite primitive and could use support and sponsorship. Stay tuned for more from the Desi’s stateside.
