I agree with ya zzapper .. !!! I wish I had also walked around with a camera when I was Marshal at the 1986 Himalayan Rally .... such lil kids we were and been bitten by the rallying bug ever since ..

hang on hang on... ive got photos of motorracing in India from before i was born, You see.... My DAD Ahmed Ali raced a citroen 15 CVTA in the early 50, at the race track in Kanchrapara...... and he was a leading photographer in India... the combination of the two means i have some pics of some mind boggling specials that were built in that era...and much to my amasement i got to Race two cars from that era... one the Delilah... which i have already posted... raced it at the dirt track in Barrackpore.. and the other one at Sholavaram... the car was the Q'MARRI... and i have the pics and i will post them soon.....for the moment check these out



I have an old school friend who lives in Manchester.. and i his dad was in the inner circle of many of the drivers who built these cars, ill try and get something from him as well... this is Indias motorsport History after all.




I havnt a clue who these guys are or what cars these are... so come on help me out.... i just keep wondering what they would sound like or what the racing was like

dont look at these cars as old cars... at the time these pics were taken these would have been New cars.. and i would immagine they would have been exocits..... similar to seeing a ferrari.. or a lambo... on the track at Chennai... sorry dont know what the name is....

Niaz.... give some serious thought to a coffee table kind of book, with lots of pics and some chapters. I for one would buy a couple of copies!
