OH SORRY Hes the one holding a milkshake in his hand.he along with his navigator Samrat Yadav are headin down to Australia to go into the history books as being the ...1ST INDIANS TO EVER COMPETE IN AN OFF ROAD RACE..I met Khuswant at the dakshindare and the rest is gonna be history.
I did promise that i would build a sieera from scratch and one that gives him a good chance of winning...so this is the car we got hold of...



In oz the gypsie king is not avaliable, and this is the closest thing... the problem is that this car comes with the older 8 valve motor and its carbyed...in this form he would not stand a chance of taking on the crack ozzie suzuki field, and we want him to win, or at least have a fair chance...so to get him the right engine we had to buy car no 2 which is this one...



This is a 1.6 16 valve swift...with the fuel injection...
we just need the head... damm so we pulled the had off this car... thats paul (some of you met him during the dare).. and he and Aden are unloading the car..
the rest of the car was thrown away...
then we bought car no3.. which was another siera.. which was stripped for parts.. we do need parts for service.. the cheapest way was to get another car and strip it... so thats also gone to the dump.. weve got all the good bits...




Paul and John both spent all weekend painting the car.. and now it looks like this...



Now Adi Irani.. (who built the fastest Fiat in India in 1981).. is getting stuck into the engine...
we are planning a 1.3 GTI bottom end.. and a 1.6 16 valver top end.. we have to stick to the 1.3 SOHC...configuration...


more as the storie progreses...this will be the official thread for this venture.. come and visit as often as you like an make sure you all give these guys a good send off... im really excited about this , and we will give him a 100% car...the rest wil be "luck"

while Adi is in the machine shop.. workin the compression ratios and valve clearence.. Paul and me had a quick squiz into the bottom end

.... FINALLY some one has taken up on the GREAT Niaz unkle offer !!! Am gonna follow this thread carefully and hope Randhawa/Samrat can show the Aussies some Punjabi style of belting the Samurai or anything thats got 4 wheels ... Good show Niaz and maybe some others too will take up on ur generous package deals !!

Keep the Indian flag flying ..... maybe the roof of the car shud have been painted with the Tri Color !!

FLAG ISSUE

I did think of it, but if i get the chakkra wrong.. then it wont be...mmmm nice.. so how about the three colours on the roof up the front the bit thats white.....
i need more convincing than two requests... so come on guys if you want the duo to carry the flag lets hear it...need more requests, Khuswant and Samrat are taking a big step into the real racers world.. The stages are over two hundred kms long.. 130 kms in the river bed.. all flat out.. no transport.. just pedal to the metal stuff... i wil shortly post a link to the local radio station in Canarvon.. so you guys can hear the commentary in real time...

My Vitara is heading back in a day or two (thanks to all at rally.com) and will contest the Production class.. and yadav and Khuswant will contest the suzuki class
