I think tricolor on the bonnet would give it more visibility.

hi,
good developement, i am happy for khushwant, 1st garry and now he,

his ability to drive is unmatched, AFAIK he prefers to stay stock (reliable) and use his skill to gain time on over modified machines.

you are using a block from a carb 1.3 and head from an mpfi 1.6? here they do it block of baleno 1.6 and head from an mpfi gypsy? correct me if i am wrong.

what kind of speeds they achieve in this event?

Cumon Niaz Unkle .... u dont need to have us BEG for the Tri Color , it should go up even if no one wants it up ;-) !!!!

And yes .. do post the exact dates , etc of the event and we would definitely follow the exploits of the Sr n Jr Desi drivers ( sorry if u feel bad about me calling u DESI :-) ) !!!!!

Good LUCK ...... =D> =D>

fuel care... which garry are you talking about???is this someone i dont know??? has he competed in "off road racing".....

now.. because im no expecting my ozzie friends here..ill give you the specs on this motor... the bottom end is from a 1.3 cultus ....thats a jap spec GTI... and the top bit is from that car we bought a 1.6 16 valver... this has the bigger valves for the 1600cc motor...we havnt fired it up yet.. but thats all happning now....speeds.......fllllaaaat out.. nothing to hit no cliff to fall over....much like the 'Desert storm'.. EXCEPT NO TRANSPORT... the year i did the storm all of us did 600 kms transport for a 12 km competitive

sir,
garry gill in american rally (not in australia)1st's for india

you mean the bore of both the engines was same and stroke of 1.6 engine was long to give additional 300 cc? very clever this arrangement may solve same purpose as an high lift cam.

tri colour on roof is fine till finish line, but when they climb on car to celebrate?

When celebrating ... they climb on the bonnet to celebrate with Tri Color in hand ;-) !!! So painting bonnet in tri color wud make it impossible for them to climb the hood !!!

I thought that was what you were referring to...lets start this again... What Kushwant and Samrat are doing is not a rally... its a very serious "off road race"..

Thre are pelnty of Indians who have compted oversea's.. right back to Navaz Bathena (when she useto rock n roll)..
NO INDIAN HAS EVER COMPETED IN AN "OFF ROAD RACE"

this is a "FIRST TIME EVER"

Khswants car is a 1300cc.. with a 1600 head..we are not putting a hi-lift cam tho we did give it a serious consideration.. he will need a lot of bottom end in the rivr section.. especially if he gets bogged.. and the hi-lift may work against that.. and there are a few serious climbs up rockfaces.. and if the car comes "off" the cam.. it will create some issues.. you cant just hammer up these rockfaces, as they are rough...

This Guys is "cliff hills" (He is the Leela, or the chubi, or the Dharampal..
depending on where you come from and which era your from).. What he dosnt know about fabrication, modification, of Sierras is not worth knowing...but he only deals with sieeras...

Image

Today the Kushwant/Samrat car arrived at his workshop in Spearwood.. to have the diff's strengthened, the fuel tank enlarged.. and the diff retaining straps fitted.

Image

If your a sieera and you want to get tough... this is the gym

on Sunday.. the solid engine mounts were done using the old block as a template...

Image

Hungry work so its bar-b-q for lunch

Image

This is Cliffs "mother of all sieeras"

Image

It sports a twin cam mpfi motor out of the GTI... and has had hundreds of hours of work sorting the suspension to perfection

Image

Can you guys please post this as a link on anyone who drives a Gypsie and has a face book page,,,

do you know how to do that.. or do you want me to tell you how????.

I do belive it could be an educative thread for the un iniatiated...

more later...

the complete red car with coil springs in front is not for khushwant, one with red rear and white front on trailer is for khushwant.

so where i get ten points for not paying attention?

no where suspension of khushwant's car is visible that's why i asked.

only one gypsy with coil springs i have seen is of vijay parmar in shimla (rescue-1)
