When did you first enter the world of rallying?
in 1995 in 2 wheelers, B’coz motorsport is my passion
What do you consider as the biggest break in your rallying career?
Winning 2 championships continuously
What has been your biggest inspiration in rallying?
As of now competed in 45 rallies and won 40 this inspires me to win many more rallies
Describe your most unforgettable incident in rallying.
Good tura challenge wining rsc 1 and overall 2, bad crashing in Delhi rally 2005.
What edge do you have over your competitors?
The best coordination between me and navigator, and don’t get panic at any situation
What’s the top speed that you have touched on a stage?
185kms in pune rally 06 in esteem
How often do you practice and where?
In two years I have practiced for 4 times in coimbatore
Are you superstitious/do you have a ritual before you get into the car/start a stage…etc?
Yes. I pray to god asking him to take me out of the stage safely
Which round of the INRC is your favorite and why?
k 1000 madur stages b’coz it is fast technical and it suits my type of driving style.
How would you compare Indian rallies with the International ones?
I feel we are far behind when compare to them, about the cars we drive are still with 2 wheel drive with maximum of 140 bhp and about no of events the calendar says 7 but we drive 5 in a year . the roads have to be improved a lot.
Any tips for upcoming drivers or navigators?
The first thing is preparation of the car don’t compromise in that if you can’t invest on preparation don’t rally. Second, focus on the target, give full commitment, and finally keep faith in god one day you will succeed .
How do you think we can popularize rallying in India?
publicity, prevent and post event release has to be a national issue and has to be published throughout the country as the event is a national event
Given a chance, which WRC driver would you like to co-drive for and in which car?
Sebastian Loeb, Citroen. My favorite driver Colin McRae, car Citroen
What do you do when you are not rallying?
I look after my estates and petrol pump

I play Badminton to have some kind of exercise to body

What are your rally plans for 2007?
Not yet decided. If I get a chance in the team I will drive which ever car they give if I don’t get then probably I might drive 1400
